Dreams

When I was young I would dream
visions of hope, for me it seemed...
Beautiful things I was sure would be,
romantic tales and sailing the seas.

Life was a wonderful thing to live.
Puppies with a lot of love to give.
Rivers were places to fish all day.
Soldiers were heroes... seemed that way.

Cowboys and Indians, creatures on Mars.
Visions of spaceships exploring the stars.
Life was hope with dreams to explore.
Falling in love... was forever more.

Somehow dreams would fade away
and tomorrows have become today.
Things have changed, life it seems
is beyond the realm of dreams.

Perhaps with hope, there may be
brighter tomorrows for all to see.
Hope has faded in the past it seems.
Then heroes emerge... fulfilling dreams.

Gone Forever

 

As we are older things change.
Parts of our lives fade away,
New things become so strange.
We begin to count every day.

Each day in time becomes a way
We live by, we begin to feel
Our cherished moments go astray.
Our fears become more real.

As we look back to the past,
We had little time to endeavor
With those who meant the most
To us.. now they're gone forever.

The Sea

As I stand on this lonely beach,
The dunes around seem to teach
Me that which I have yearned
To know, lessons learned...
The sense that life itself seems to be
A gift given from the beautiful sea!

The awesome power of the sea
Reaches her hands out to me,
And fills my soul with anxious fear.
As the waves seemingly draw me near
To the depths of sailors lore,
As I stand on this distant shore.

I walk slowly along the sand,
Taking in the beauty of the grand
Spectacle that's all around.
I listen quietly, I hear the sound
Of a gull crying far against the sky...
The lonely distant haunting cry.

The many facets of blue wave
Reflect the things which I crave
To know about the endless sea.
Her beauty and power I can see
Reach far out to distant sky...
To the sound of the gull's lonely cry.

Golden Dreams

When I was young I would sit and watch the golden Sun set over ocean into eternity.
I would think of forever, the vastness of sky... does the sea and heaven both defy
my mind and become an endless sky?
From distant time and across endless sea
many a soul has sought to be free.
Reaching out beyond horizon only to find
that the treasures sought were in kind
The golden sunset defying the mind.

Today I Saw An Angel

Today I Saw An Angel
In the face of my best friend.
The comfort she gives me when I'm low
Brings me up and makes me smile
Wherever we may go.
Her devotion seems to have no end
No matter what I do or say.
All this reminds me once again
That I did see an Angel today.

She's always there
Whenever I need to talk,
This little Angel friend of mine.
She knows when my heart is sad.
When I go for an evening walk
She leads me along the way
Through paths of troubled times.
Thus I know my little friend
Indeed I saw an Angel today!
